Reading Questions 5 Due: Tuesday, October 5, 2004 Based on your reading, and pre-writing around Omi/Winant, Nagel, and the three sources you've found in Research Assignment 1, respond to the following: 1) Compose at least one paragraph that uses Ballenger's "loop" technique to develop a synthesis of an idea in one internet source and an idea or concept in either O/W or N. Your choice of Omi/Winant or Nagel will emerge from your topic. Which of those texts is appropriate given your research project idea? 2) Compose an "inverted pyramid" synthesis paragraph that uses information in one of your internet-generated sources as the example, and a concept, point, or idea from either O/W or N as the big idea or point. 3) Compose another "inverted pyramid" using whichever sources you'd like to use. If you're using only one of our common readings (O/W or N), you may try to use your two internet-generated sources to build the inverted pyramid. If you're using both of our common readings, try to build this "inverted pyramid" synthesis from the text you don't use in 2) above. |
