Evaluating Web Sources

Due: September 30, 2003

For this assignment, you are to conduct an internet search to locate both popular and potentially scholarly sources on your topic. You need to find at least three web-based sources on your topic. Be sure to identify the URL for each source, and use correct APA citation for each one.

Evaluate each source for accuracy, authority, objectivity, currency, and coverage. These categories are briefly covered on the York College library’s website at <http://www.york.cuny.edu/~lib/usingwww.html>. Not all sources need to be “good” ones for your research. Try to include at least one source that seems “bogus”. Also, try to locate a scholarly source.

Hand in the results of this research on September 30. Be sure to include your name and a one or two sentence description of your research project idea.
